November Walkabout

The last Sunday in November saw Spot having an outing to the South Bank… anyone with a good memory will know that in the run up to the end of November, there was lots of snow and freezing temperatures around the country – including London!

Now, The Zentai Project participants do not normally do walkabout’s this late in the year, but there was a special reason for this one – Foreplay Magazine wanted to do a feature on Zentai and the walkabouts we do, so this was specially arranged after much discussion.

The afternoon started with layering up the lycra – a Yellow Leotard as the base layer, then my Hoodless White Zentai followed by Spot’s normal Dalmatian Zentai. This isn’t what’s normally done – it’s usually just a white thong under the Zentai for public appearances, but due to the absolutely freezing weather, layers were the only option. Colin, the photographer, found it cold in his normal clothes but strangely, it wasn’t actually too bad in the Zentai – probably to do with the even coverage all over…

After everyone else had got changed (4 people from the group – the most we’ve had on a zentai walkabout – and Sarah, the editor of the magazine), it was decided that logically, it was best to brave the cold then conduct the interviews, giving us a chance to warm up again! We headed from the Royal Festival Hall along the South Bank heading towards the Tate Modern direction, stopping along the way for the inevitable posed photograph for the magazine, as well as random photographs with members of the public.

The most random occurrence of the day was when we stopped to get our photos taken, and one of the members of the public pulled their phone out their pocket to ask if I was the Dalmatian in the photograph she was showing me… which turned out to be a picture of me in the cage at Erotica the week before – small world! After the photos were done, we headed in to the National Theatre hoping to find a cuppa, where the editor conducted an interview with us all.

We then went and got changed and headed off to Starbucks to relax and have more of an informal chat about various things, whereupon the editor picked up that Spot is most definitely a pup! I’m not sure if it was eating the giant chocolate button we found on sale there or not though!

Some pictures from the day are below.

More can be seen at Winter 2010 @ The Zentai Project. Hopefully, the magazine article should appear in January, so I’ll keep one eye out for it – Foreplay Magazine

Dalmatian Description

A very small bit of background needed here:
A while ago I was talking to someone about being able to find an alternative me; a means to escape from normality and become someone (or something) that could be completely relaxed and not care about the day to day human stresses.
Turns out this person could relate to that as when in the Army they were told to think like an animal (instincts etc etc) and he chose a tiger.
After crossing this, the discussion became somewhat more detailed and I was explaining about Spot (Though being careful in what I said, as if the person that I am talking to becomes a bit awkward over the discussion then I will stop). This discussion went on an off for nearly 3 days.
The other part to this story was that this person in question has not done a serious hike for over 8 years (if I recall correctly) and so needed a lot of moral support. This I gave, and devoted myself to have the challenge of making sure that this person managed to complete the entire walk.

A few days later after the above, I was (as usual) at work, and so not at home when said person dropped by to say “Thanks”. So when I got home that night, there was a small gift from him to say thanks… I opened it, and to my sheer surprise and delight there was a Norfolk China mug, with the following wording on it:

“The Dalmatian

Originating probably from the Middle East going back to ancient times. They take their name from Dalmatia in the former Yugoslavia. Bred originally for a variety of uses, coach follower, watchdog, herding, trailing and retrieving. Weighing between 40-60 pounds and standing 22-24 inches at the shoulder. This muscular dog has sparkling round eyes and an intelligent friendly expression. A fun loving and active breed needing lots of attention and love. Very attractive and will thrive on plenty of exercise.”

Now for those of you who know me in my normal life: how true is that to me as a human too!!!!

Maybe there is more to the breed of dog that you become in pup head space than first meets the eye. Equally I feel that I have definitely also got those traits when in pup head space too … Though I would need confirmation of that , since I do have hazy memory when I’m a pup as I do switch off from normality and no-longer think human like.

A much needed update

Well, this has been a much needed update to my blog … I know it always sounds bad to say, but work and home life has prevented me from putting paws to paper and updating my blog properly, still let’s not worry, and here it is:

Wow, has it really been Brighton Pride when I last wrote … now that is an age ago!

Well since then there has been 2 Heros nights, one of which was hampered by tube travel strikes … but there were quite a few that turned up :). Spot had his new paws on too, and they are going to take some getting used to!

Spot also attended a Fetishbound night (and took residence in the Kennelbound area). Waiting on Scamp, I happily fell asleep in the cage that was there … the cage being smaller than the one at home, and I was not expecting to be able to sleep in it but I did! Though I was in that state of mind where you think you know exactly what is going on around you, and you think you are awake, but just with eyes closed. I had it confirmed that I was asleep when I saw the pictures later on, and I definitely have no recollection of those being taken (not that I’m bothered… If anything Spot like his picture being taken *wags tail*) Scamp arrived and we played as two daft pups for the night

The second Heros night was much the same as usual … with an odd twist … Kye was there … so after a catch up and random chatting, Spot settled down and enjoyed the night.

Spot had one other outing after that … I did a fun run, and dressed up as Spot. Though instead of the hood, I did full face paint and hair too. Scamp joined us for the afternoon out too *wags tail* .. I couldn’t resist as I came to the finish line … I dropped on all fours, and ‘ran’ the last 20 metres or so on all fours *woofles* *bounds round excited*

Well, that’s a good summary of what’s happened. AND I MUST really really put paws on paper more frequently again.
