Dalmatian Description

A very small bit of background needed here:
A while ago I was talking to someone about being able to find an alternative me; a means to escape from normality and become someone (or something) that could be completely relaxed and not care about the day to day human stresses.
Turns out this person could relate to that as when in the Army they were told to think like an animal (instincts etc etc) and he chose a tiger.
After crossing this, the discussion became somewhat more detailed and I was explaining about Spot (Though being careful in what I said, as if the person that I am talking to becomes a bit awkward over the discussion then I will stop). This discussion went on an off for nearly 3 days.
The other part to this story was that this person in question has not done a serious hike for over 8 years (if I recall correctly) and so needed a lot of moral support. This I gave, and devoted myself to have the challenge of making sure that this person managed to complete the entire walk.

A few days later after the above, I was (as usual) at work, and so not at home when said person dropped by to say “Thanks”. So when I got home that night, there was a small gift from him to say thanks… I opened it, and to my sheer surprise and delight there was a Norfolk China mug, with the following wording on it:

“The Dalmatian

Originating probably from the Middle East going back to ancient times. They take their name from Dalmatia in the former Yugoslavia. Bred originally for a variety of uses, coach follower, watchdog, herding, trailing and retrieving. Weighing between 40-60 pounds and standing 22-24 inches at the shoulder. This muscular dog has sparkling round eyes and an intelligent friendly expression. A fun loving and active breed needing lots of attention and love. Very attractive and will thrive on plenty of exercise.”

Now for those of you who know me in my normal life: how true is that to me as a human too!!!!

Maybe there is more to the breed of dog that you become in pup head space than first meets the eye. Equally I feel that I have definitely also got those traits when in pup head space too … Though I would need confirmation of that , since I do have hazy memory when I’m a pup as I do switch off from normality and no-longer think human like.
