*wuff* … I’ve been resisting the urge to write this post until people saw the puppy hood in-person (or in-puppy) … but the suspense of wanting to tell the world has become immense, so I’ve had to give in and put paws to keyboard.
Some while ago, I decided it was time to get my own Dalmatian Puppy Hood – I’ve been looking at the RubberDawg Dalmatian Full Hood for some many years!
When invited to be involved in the Pride walk, I decided it was time to do the deed … so the order was placed.
Some fantastic correspondence then went back and forth between RubberDawg and I, deciding on how the ears should be, rough placement and sizes of spots and such like. Then shortly before Pride I saw the hood for the first time, I was told I was like a kid at Christmas! It was all white – with the email roughly saying, play with photoshop (or similar) and place the spots how you would like them to be … so about 3 hrs later, the email goes back with rough spot sizes and placements. Roughly a day later, I get the same set of images, but this time, of the actual puppy hood! WOW WOW WOW was all I could say! I couldn’t stop looking at it – worse still I couldn’t wait to see it in person (or puppy).
Time was getting tight for Pride, so a small bit more correspondence with RubberDawg, and bless his heart, he sent it Express delivery …. I paid the extra owed to do this, and sat with my paws crossed, checking every day the tracking websites …………………………………
At this point, Pride arrived, Puppy hood hadn’t 🙁 *whine* … not the end of the world, I still had an absolutely fantastic day out being a puppy in the middle of London (as can be read in the other blog post)
……..
A couple of days later, I was invited out to an all-you-can-eat Chinese restaurant – where, at the end of the meal with the bill came the fortune cookies … I opened mine, and inside it said “A good parcel or letter will arrive soon” (or something like that). The very next day – a letter, not the nicest of letters per-say, but one that I had been waiting on – the Customs Bill had arrived … paid that instantly and arranged delivery for the next day.
Wednesday took for-ever to arrive! But on arrival at work, there was the parcel … Tempting me to open it … The urge overtook me – I took the parcel upstairs to my office, opened it and my jaw just dropped!! I was speechless, I could believe my eyes, the puppy hood was better than imagined! Eventually, I plucked up the courage to try it on, silence descended when I saw myself stare back at me in the mirror – I really couldn’t say anything. Sadly time was against me, as I had work to do, so Puppy Spot Hood was put back in the box, carefully, and I had to wait until I got home.
The day dragged on, eventually I was home, and after trying on a second time, I took the courage to trim the nose tubes to fit.
A bit of trying on, trimming a tiny bit off the noes tubes, then repeating, I eventually got it right.
I think since the day it arrived, there has only been about 3 days in the fortnight or so, where I haven’t worn the hood!
I now just cant wait to show everyone in person – likewise, I can’t thank RubberDawg enough for producing the most exquisite puppy hood for Spot.
*bounds round with immense excitement*
Will get some smart images taken of it soon and send some to RubberDawg to go in his gallery (kennel) of images.
However, for now, here is a sneak preview of the puppy hood 🙂
