This seems to have been a quiet month in the life of Spot, and to a huge degree, it actually has been… since Hero’s, I’ve been very busy with work, and also was away on holiday for a week (with my family, so no Spot time). I did, however, spend some of the holiday doing about 12 miles of Kayaking over a period of 4-5 days, so from that point of view, it was good fun.

However, Spot has been out and about and that’s what this post is about – so on with the update.

The first outing after Heros this month for Spot was at a fun run – where I won ‘Best Fancy Dress’ which was quite fun. I also raised over £300 for Charity by completing a fun run dressed as Spot – about 5.3km and came in 4th or 5th out of about 100 participants – although the main thing was the money for Charity. Thanks to all the readers of the blog who sponsored me. *wags tail*

I suppose the longest, and most blog worthy outing that Spot had this month was last night, when my owner and I attended a Slapstick Comedy night being held in Birmingham. I’m not really in to Sploshing / WAMing, but my owner is and is a member of the club that was organising the event – SLOSH. I was asked if I wouldn’t mind doing the technical stuff (sound and lights) for the show. Naturally, I said yes as my owner was going along to the show anyway.

As it seemed convenient to do so, and it wouldn’t be an issue at the event, it was decided before we left that I’d travel from home to Birmingham wearing Lycra, and probably do the show wearing Lycra as well. However, before we left, we also decided that we’d take one of the Spot Zentai suit’s along as well, so that I could change in to it if I wanted to.

We travelled to Birmingham, parked in the same Car Park we park in if we’re going to the Birmingham Bizarre Bazar and found that the pub was actually quite easy to find from there – firstly, it was at the end of the road, and secondly, we managed to follow someone that my owner recognised. *wags*

When we arrived at the venue, I started to get acquainted with the “box” I was going to be spending the night in (nothing kinky – it’s just where the technical stuff is operated from!) and also started with setting up the radio microphone I was providing, while other people were covering up the venue with polythene and dressing it. Rehearsals for the various scripted bits of the event were also well underway at this time, and I was getting the hang of the script and the sound effects. Rehearsals continued (clean!) for a bit and eventually my owner and I went for dinner.

While we were out, we were discussing what I would do regarding my outfit for the evening, and eventually, we decided that it was the type of event where people would potentially know me, and therefore I decided it would be best if I dressed as Spot for the evening. On arrival back at the pub, we had a quick drink then both set off to get changed – as my owner was part of one of the pre-written sketches for the show, and I then sat down in my seat for the evening.

Throughout the night, I received comments from various members of the audience about my outfit, which was nice… and when I was outside having a “breath of fresh air” at the interval, someone came up to me and asked me if I was ZentaiSpot (I obviously answered “yes”) and got chatting to him while we were outside.

Unfortunately, at the end of the night, my owner and I had to dash off though as I had work the next day.
