Spot’s had two outings recently, both in to London.
The first of these was last Saturday, the 18th to Fettered Pleasures as we had heard the store was closing down and we went for one last visit, mainly as on a previous trip, I’d been asked to come back as Spot – so I duly did so. We both had a look around and a chat with the owner as best we could, but in the end we came away empty handed.
However, the good news is they are only closing the physical high street shop; they shall be continuing to trade online, so we can still buy anything we saw that we might want.
The second trip out was today, on what has to be one of the warmest days of the year so far. Today’s trip was to be a walk with a collection of people from a couple of kink websites I am a member of, who meet up regularly for walks. I started off thinking it may be too warm for the Spot Zentai, so I set off from our “local” tube station wearing some running shorts and a vest but with a couple of other options in a bag my owner had.
Although we were running late, we arrived at the train station in time to catch the train which others were getting and meet up with Scamp and his partner. As we got off the train at the other end we realised everyone else was on the same train *paws over eyes* as we’d sat at the very back of the train as we got on it just before it was due to leave.
We started off walking from the station, following the ‘Capital Ring’ and, as usual, we got lost – taking a slight detour than the one we were meant to take. As far as we can tell, we’d just misread a sign OR walked straight past another one telling us where to go. Oh well, so then we set off on the main route. About this time I decided that it would be better to be in Spot and pup mode rather than just in Lycra out for a walk … so I dived off the path in to the woods to change. On rejoining the group, we carried on walking, getting a few stares from various people and road users as we crossed roads and wandered through parks.
Part of the walk usually involves people taking over from leading the group, and at times I was in front, following the signs, being a guide dog – or as someone said ‘a pointer’ leading the way – still, we found base number one which was to be a cafe. This prompted the first audible comment of the day “Is that man in his pyjamas?” – the answer is, of course, no, I wasn’t. We carried on walking, and stopped for refreshments where Rover (who organises the walks) owner sponsors a brick. This meant that I crammed two of the cookies Scamp had made in to my mouth – the whole cookie at once! This also meant we could get some group photos and the pups could be a bit silly.
The rest of the walk followed the same format, stopping occasionally, following signs, chatting and walking and being pup like. The few people who made comment on me did at least realise I was a dalmatian – as usually they think I’m something else!
The walk was actually quite pleasant, and I wasn’t quite as warm as I thought I might be in the end! We finished the main bit of the walk at Charlton Station, where we got a train a couple of stops then had a walk through Greenwich Park to reach a pub which someone knew of. We then had a couple of quiet drinks in the pub before heading for home, still dressed as Spot. When we were waiting on the tube at Canary Wharf, a group of girls asked me why I was dressed like I was. I just replied ‘Why Not?’ and they said ‘fair enough’ and enquired if I was going to a party. I said no, but I had been out for a walk earlier. Also, a lady wanted to take my picture on the tube, so I let her 🙂 Unfortunately, on arrival back at the car, I had to get changed back in to domestic clothes due to needing to stop at a petrol station on the way home 🙁
